30 October 2009

The five Douro boys took centre stage tonight.
We started with four 2008 whites with three impressing:
VZ Douro Branco, Quinta Vale d. Maria €25
The biggest of the whites with toasty weight but with minerality and lemony freshness in the finish.
Quinta do Crasto €9
Citric, some weight, clean, fair value
Redoma, Niepoort €12
The best of the four – ripe, rich, complexity and balance
Reds to follow:
Details of the wines tasted later today....
