Since the early 70′s and before the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, the USSR experienced a unique and period architecture. Editor in chief of French magazine Citizen K Frederick Shoben (Frédéric Chaubin), fascinated by this period of time in Soviet architecture, a period of seven years were selected and photographed these objects. As a result – a luxurious new Taschen book and exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Karlsruhe, which runs until 27th March. The book documented 90 buildings located in 14 former Soviet republics.
This is an inspiring collection of architectural photography.
