This year, Vietnam’s capital Hanoi celebrate 1000 years. Painter Nguyen Thu Thuy has decided not to stay away from such a grand celebration of the anniversary and in his honor lined with ceramic mosaic wall length of 3.95 kilometers. Gift to the city turned out a truly unique: a wall log into the Guinness Book of Records as the longest in the world.
Nguyen Thu Thuy said that the idea for the project came from her in 2003, when archaeological excavations she discovered the ancient bricks and ceramic Dynasty, as well as other artifacts of Tran Dynasty. The long history of these subjects did not leave indifferent artist, in connection with which it decided that the mosaic wall is a wonderful reminder of the history of Vietnam.
Reupload the mosaic of small ceramic fragments – a long process, and it is unknown how much time it took Nguyen Thu Thuy, if she worked alone. Therefore, the author asked the Vietnamese youth as well as artists from other countries asking them to help her in an ambitious art project. created a mosaic on a modern theme, laid out other scenes from the history of Vietnam, the third reproducing famous paintings … in total to the project was attended by about a hundred artists from Mexico, Brazil, France, Denmark and other countries.Work on “Ceramic road” lasted from September 25 to October 5, after which representatives of the Guinness Book of Records confirmed that the work is the longest in the world of mosaics.
