Volvo probably didn’t see this coming. Toyota announced that it has developed the world’s first rear-seat center airbag. The airbag will provide better safety for rear seat passengers in case of a side-on collision. The SRS rear-seat centerairbags will make way in to Toyota’s Japanese models soon, and a worldwide deployment is likely to follow, though Toyota hasn’t announced anything to this effect as of yet. Anything that increases safety on the road is always welcome
