In the late 60s, the Ministry of Technology, UK, has built seven buses with movie theaters inside. Woefully, only one survives to this day. However, it has been painstakingly restored to its original glory by local Devonian Oliver Halls and a group of his friends and is outfitted with Epson EH-TW3500 LCD projector, Pioneer BDP-320 Blu-ray player, Onkyo TX-NR807 receiver, Mordaunt Short Aviano 6 floorstander speakers as well as Mordaunt Short Alumni 9 subwoofers, five center speakers and three surround speakers.

The seats in the Vintage Mobile Movie bus themselves date from the 1930s and its restoration is aimed at bringing a cultural and historical experience to North Devon, including the most rural communities in the area. The bus is doing the rounds at various festivals and fairs in the UK, and showing the movies lesser known and archival footage from the different cities to which the bus travel. Additionally, the mobile cinema bus can be hired for private event at their website here.
