2009 vintage@Clos Roche Blanche (CRM)
Some picking has started in the Cher Valley – the Clos Roche Blanche started on their Sauvignon Blanc today. "It's a record crop," Catherine told me, "45-50 hl/ha! We haven't seen such yields for 15 years. The grapes are very clean and have 12.5˚ potential with acidity levels of 5.7 and a ph of 3.17." Didier Barouillet said something about the level of digestible nitrogen but neither Catherine nor I could understand this, so further research is probably required. They will be picking again tomorrow and then the early part of next week.
At the Clos du Porteau in Saint-Georges-sur-Cher they are waiting for the Sauvignon to dry out after some rain yesterday but they may start on Saturday.
