Jasper Morris MW won the André Simon Drink Book Award 2010 with his Inside Burgundy, which is published by his employers – Berry Bros & Rudd. Jasper's book is the first title in the Berry's imprint.

Sarah Jane Evans MW presented the wine book award in the absence of this year's assessor, Tony Quinn, who is himself up for an award tonight elsewhere in the city at the recently renovated Savoy Hotel. The presentation was at the Goring Hotel, Victoria, London.

Sarah Jane said: “It is a labour of love – Jasper’s life work – and it is beautifully written. A detailed book on Burgundy could have been inaccessible but the design is excellent – it looks modern and draws you in.”

Jasper said: “A hugely exciting moment. It has been years since I have felt as nervous as I did just before the awards were announced! I am thrilled that Inside Burgundy has won the André Simon Award and delighted for all those involved, especially designer Lizzie Ballantyne, our publishing partners Carrie Segrave and Chris Foulkes - their 8th André Simon award! - and of course Simon Berry for his vision in starting the Berry Bros. & Rudd Press as a new wine book imprint.”
